Bekah Greenwald is a change leader with deep roots in multiple urban core cities, and a long time commitment to youth and community improvement through art, environmental sustainability and resident-led change. Bekah has served as Executive Director of Riverzedge since 2009, after successfully growing small organizations, programs and coalitions in New York City, Washington, D.C. and Rhode Island. Her artistic and career tracks exemplify commitment to inclusion and positive disruption. Under her leadership, Riverzedge launched Expanded Learning Opportunities Woonsocket, Woonsocket Parent Leadership Training Institute, Riverzedge Mobile Studio, Green Design Lab and Summer Placemaking Workforce Intensive, transforming Riverzedge into a nationally award winning model for creative youth development. Bekah holds a B.A. from Barnard College/Columbia University in Creative Writing, and has completed graduate work at the Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs and at Rhode Island College. She is also a graduate of Leadership RI (2012 Theta II); she was a RI Foundation Fellow in 2011; and now serves on the Boards of Directors of Fund for Community Progress and Woonsocket Main Street Riverfront Initiative.
